BREADCRUMB partners Anecoop and Lehmann Natur at Fruit Logistica 2025

The BREADCRUMB project had a strong presence at Fruit Logistica 2025, the leading international trade fair for the fresh produce industry, thanks to the active participation of project partners Anecoop and Lehmann Natur. Held in Berlin from February 7-9, 2024, the event brought together key players from across the global fruit and vegetable supply chain, providing an excellent opportunity to highlight the project’s objectives and engage with industry stakeholders.

Anecoop and Lehmann Natur, both major players in the fresh produce sector, showcased BREADCRUMB at their respective exhibition stands. Visitors had the chance to learn about the project’s innovative approach to reducing food waste linked to marketing standards and improving market access for suboptimal—but still perfectly edible—foods.

Anecoop, a leading Spanish cooperative specializing in fruit and vegetable production, prominently displayed the BREADCRUMB roll-up banner at their stand. Their team actively engaged with attendees, discussing how marketing standards impact food waste and presenting potential solutions explored within the project. By leveraging their extensive network of producers and distributors, Anecoop played a vital role in disseminating project insights to a broad audience

Similarly, Lehmann Natur, a German company known for its commitment to sustainable agriculture and organic produce, integrated BREADCRUMB’s mission into their booth activities. Their representatives answered questions about the project’s research on food waste and emphasized how the fresh produce sector can benefit from rethinking marketing standards to maximize sustainability and economic value

Fruit Logistica 2024 provided an excellent platform for BREADCRUMB’s dissemination and engagement activities. The event allowed project partners to connect with policymakers, food industry leaders, and sustainability advocates, fostering discussions on how marketing standards can evolve to support circular food systems.

As BREADCRUMB continues its work on rebalancing food marketing standards and enhancing market access for suboptimal foods, participation in events like Fruit Logistica remains essential for ensuring broad industry awareness and stakeholder involvement.
