Celebrating a Summer of hard work with the ILVO Food Waste Team!

A Summer of Data Collection

Throughout the summer, our team has been on the ground, gathering valuable data from various stakeholders for our 2 case studies. This was essential for understanding the impact of food marketing standards on food waste at the company level. We have conducted a series of in-depth interviews, capturing the thoughts and experiences of different food supply chain actors. These interviews have provided us with fascinating insights into the complex relationship between food marketing standards and the generation of food waste.

The Road to Analysis

With the interviews wrapped up, our team has been busy transcribing and organizing the collected data. This is no small feat, but thanks to the hard work and dedication, we are now ready to move on to the analysis phase. Together with other project partners, we will tackle the analysis of the 16 case studies divided into five food commodities: cereals, fruit & vegetables, eggs, fish and meat. This next step will bring us closer to understand the relationship between food waste and food marketing standards.

What’s Next?

As we gear up for the analyses, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the effort and commitment of every team member. The hard work this summer has been nothing short of remarkable, and we couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve achieved together. But the journey isn’t over yet—there’s more exciting work ahead!

We’ll soon be sharing the results of our analysis, together with all the other results of the case studies, shedding light on how food marketing standards contribute to food waste at the company level. Cheers to the ILVO Food Waste team and the exciting work yet to come!
